Introduction

Hoperise HIV/AIDS & Counselling Services is a unit under Hoperise Consultants CC accommodated at Zambia House (1st Floor) Corner Sam Nujoma/ Mandume Ndemefao, Windhoek. This training college is proud to unveil its internationally accredited courses in HIV/AIDS and Social sciences in association with the UK based College of Venereal Disease Prevention (CVDP) and Trans-Atlantic University as well as ABMA.

On realizing that HIV/AIDS is taking its toll on Namibia’s active and productive labour force and the youth, Hoperise Consultants found it essentially necessary to train, educate and certificate in HIV/AIDS, Counseling and Social Development, IT and Management issues.

In its insatiable quest to join forces around the achievement of the Millennium Goals, Hoperise is embarking on training through Distance and Face-to-face at diploma level. The introduction of these 12-18 months courses is development driven. The fees are as shown in the application forms

We also offer short courses in Emotional Intelligence, Business & Marketing Intelligence IT & Internet Competence, Touch/Speed typing skills, English for Specific Purposes including Speed Reading, Comprehension Skills, Memory Training, Knowledge Management as well as Office Administration and Management.

Diploma in HIV/AIDS Management & Counselling

Diploma in HIV/AIDS Management & Counselling as well as Diploma in Sexually Transmitted Disease Prevention. This is a diploma course that deals with both the prevention and management of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. It brings to the limelight the complex and diverse nature of STDs and their impact on society, particularly the poor. The programme consists of 3 modules; module 1 of which is the equivalent the diploma programme.

The advanced diploma is awarded only when all 3 modules have been successfully completed. However, a student who completes 1 or 2 modules but does not continue with the programme may apply for a diploma to be awarded for each module(s) which is successfully completed. A certification fee is charged for each award in these circumstances.

Furthermore, an individual may decide to enrol on any one or more modules of the advanced diploma programme after which a diploma will be awarded for each module passed. The cost of these single subject diplomas will be equivalent to the cost of the diploma course in HIV and AIDS prevention.

Students completing this course may proceed to higher education at UK or British Commonwealth universities; in some cases gaining advance credits.

MSc in HIV/AIDS Prevention and Sexual Health Strategy

This is an important and challenging course for people who are working or are interested in working at management level in HIV/AIDS prevention and sexual health planning. HIV/AIDS is now the biggest healthcare challenge in the developing world, where in some countries one third of the population is infected with HIV. This postgraduate programme examines the HIV/AIDS strategic prevention tools that are available and the overall sexual health strategy. The degree is awarded by “The International University” USA.

In order to be awarded the degree, students are required to complete 180 academic credits by studying the following modules:-
